Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and driven Commis I to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in food preparation, be eager to learn, and possess a strong work ethic to contribute to a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Commis I, you will assist in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
• Ensure all ingredients are prepped, organized, and ready for service, including washing, chopping, and portioning food.
• Follow standardized recipes and adhere to kitchen procedures to maintain consistency in food quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
• Comply with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
• Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and tools.
• Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standard of quality and taste.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; formal culinary training is a plus.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred, but not required.
• A passion for cooking and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
