Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Foreman to oversee and coordinate construction activities on-site in Dubai. The ideal candidate will ensure that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while adhering to safety regulations.
SKILLS:
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, structural drawings & specification with the engineer.
- Proficient in interpreting basic Electrical & Plumbing layouts and pipings with the engineer
- Familiarity with various techniques (concreting, formworks, reinforcement & finishing) with the engineer
- Understand materials like concrete, steel, aggregates, metal, plyboard including handling with the engineer
- Knowledge quality standards, tolerances & inspection protocols with the engineer
- Knowledge safety standards and implementation safety practices on-site with the engineer
- Knowledge on basic local construction codes and minimum standards with the engineer
Monitoring Work Progress and Quality
Task Supervision: The foreman ensures that all team members are performing tasks correctly and according to the specified requirements.
Quality Control: Regularly checks the work being done to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
Problem-solving: Identifies and resolves any issues or obstacles that might impede progress, such as equipment failure or safety concerns.
Adherence to Deadlines: Monitors timelines to ensure the team is working within set schedules, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
Organizing and Allocating Manpower
Skill Assessment: Understands the strengths and weaknesses of each team member, assigning tasks based on individual skills and experience.
Effective Scheduling: Organizes shift schedules, ensuring the right number of workers are available at the right time.
Resource Allocation: Ensures that each worker has the appropriate tools, materials, and equipment to complete their assigned tasks efficiently.
Team Coordination: Facilitates clear communication between workers, and between workers and upper management, ensuring everyone is aligned with the goals
Target Accomplishment
Setting Clear Goals: Works with management to establish clear, measurable objectives and communicates these to the team.
Tracking Progress: Keeps track of daily, weekly, or project-specific targets and ensures that the team is on track to meet or exceed them.
Motivating Team: Encourages team members to meet targets and maintains morale, making sure the team remains focused and productive.
Adapting to Changes: In case of delays or unforeseen challenges, the foreman adjusts plans, reallocates resources, or redefines targets to stay on course.
Leadership and Communication Skills
Team Leadership: Provides strong leadership to guide the team through challenges, ensuring a productive and safe working environment.
Conflict Resolution: Handles any interpersonal conflicts or disputes within the team, maintaining a harmonious work environment.
Reporting: Regularly reports to higher management on progress, challenges, and resource needs.
