Strategy Development & Enterprise Planning Officer

Job Summary

The Strategy Development & Enterprise Planning Officer will work within the Asset Management & Corporate Development Department – Corporate Affairs Directorate and is responsible for aligning the organization’s strategic goals with its portfolios of projects through close collaboration with the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and senior leadership. This role focuses on strategy development, ensuring that strategic initiatives and projects drive organizational growth and success. 

The role also entails looking after the enterprise planning process, while aligning with strategic performance management across the organization while optimizing organizational resources to meet key business objectives. 


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define the company's strategic direction, in alignment with industry trends and national strategies as applicable.
  • Define Strategic Objectives, Key Performance Indicators (“KPI’s”) and SMART Targets.
  • Setup a strategic performance management system, through the facilitation of design thinking workshops and the design of processes, tools and dashboards to monitor and measure progress towards the achievement of strategic goals.
  • Develop automated workflows and reporting structures using Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power BI) to improve the efficiency of strategic performance management and enterprise planning processes. 
  • Facilitate the development, refinement, and communication of the organization’s strategy execution roadmap, capturing strategic initiatives at the organizational level with focus on growth, innovation, and sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Align with respective teams and departments to ensure the portfolios of projects are aligned with respective strategic goals in an aim to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Take the enterprise planning process forward while ensuring alignment between long-term strategic goals and project portfolios, adjusting plans and resource allocations as necessary.
  • Support the allocation of organizational resources in line with the strategy, including human and financial resources in line with the strategy, in collaboration with respective departments.
  • Prioritize projects based on their strategic value, resource availability, and expected returns.
  • Produce regular performance reports, dashboards, and strategic reviews for the executive team to monitor the achievement of strategic goals as per the agreed upon plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement in strategy development and enterprise planning.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's in business administration, Finance, Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in strategy development, enterprise planning, strategic performance management, project portfolio management, or a similar role.
  • Experience with corporate strategy development and integration of performance management processes.
  • Experience with Balanced Scorecard methodology or similar.
