Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer for Energy & Ports Projects is responsible for designing, design review, implementing, and managing mechanical systems and control and components associated with energy projects
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of mechanical systems throughout all phases of the construction project, from initial planning to final inspection within budget.
- Prepare and develop detailed specifications and technical documentation for mechanical equipment and materials.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met within budget and on schedule.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure mechanical systems meet required specifications and standards.
- Conduct inspections and testing to verify system performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure mechanical designs and systems comply with relevant industry codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of project documentation, including design drawings, change orders, and construction progress reports.
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders regarding the status of mechanical installations and any relevant issues or concerns.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify innovative solutions and improve the efficiency and sustainability of mechanical systems in construction projects.
- Assist in drafting contractual and commercial terms and conditions to best serve and protect the Company's interests.
- Monitor and track on-site construction activities to ensure alignment with project plans and schedules.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience in construction management, oil and gas experience (preferable in the field of liquified natural Gas and compressed natural Gas or marine mechanical works).
- Familiar with FIDIC contracts such as but not limited to lump sum turnkey (LSTK) contracts and construction contracts.
- Knowledge of applicable codes related to LNG & NG works
- Knowledge in marine mechanical work (preferably)
