Responsibilities:
- Accounting Data Entry:
- Accurately input and maintain financial records for the foreign subsidiary, including journal entries, invoices, and transactions.
- Ensure proper categorization and compliance with both local accounting standards and group-level financial reporting requirements.
- Assist in posting accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries as part of the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Foreign Subsidiary Accounting:
- Support the preparation and maintenance of the foreign subsidiary’s financial statements, ensuring alignment with local accounting principles.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between the foreign subsidiary and the parent company, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process and record payments to foreign vendors and receipts from international customers, ensuring timely and accurate entry into the accounting system.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers, ensuring accurate balances for the foreign subsidiary.
- Payroll Management:
- Process payroll for the foreign subsidiary’s employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payments.
- Ensure payroll taxes, social contributions, and other statutory deductions are accurately calculated and remitted.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
- Asset Maintenance and Recording:
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets for the foreign subsidiary, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
- Conduct periodic asset audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
- Assist in tracking asset lifecycles and ensuring proper categorization in financial statements.
- Banking Functions:
- Manage daily banking operations, including cash management, bank reconciliations, and monitoring cash flow for the foreign subsidiary.
- Prepare and submit bank transfers, ensuring compliance with internal controls and approval processes.
- Liaise with banks regarding account management, services, and any discrepancies or issues.
- Regulatory Compliance & Transfer Pricing:
- Ensure compliance with local regulations regarding tax filings (e.g., VAT/GST, income tax) and prepare necessary statutory reports.
- Ensure accurate recording of intercompany transactions in compliance with the group’s transfer pricing policies.
- Reconcile intercompany balances between the foreign subsidiary and other entities within the group.
- Provide necessary documentation and support for both internal and external audits.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Collaborate with the finance teams of both the foreign subsidiary and the parent company to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Liaise with local auditors, tax authorities, payroll providers, banks, and external consultants to support the subsidiary’s financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Basic knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and Excel.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with IFRS or local GAAP is a plus.
