Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all financial and accounting operations at OTO, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of enhancing shipping industry platforms;
• Supervise the verification and processing of client invoices, ensuring timely billing and adherence to contractual agreements;
• Oversee the reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies to maintain healthy cash flow;
• Prepare and present comprehensive, error-free financial reports and analysis to OTO’s executive team, providing insights relevant to the shipping sector;
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to offer actionable insights and strategic recommendations that support OTO’s growth and operational efficiency;
• Ensure timely review and audit of client invoices, maintaining accuracy in processing and enhancing overall cash management;
• Identify and address inefficiencies in financial processes, implementing improvements that drive operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness;
• Provide expert financial guidance on resource management, supporting the optimization of financial performance within the context of the shipping industry;
• Evaluate and recommend enhancements to OTO’s accounting systems and procedures, ensuring they meet the specific needs of the shipping sector;
• Ensure precise tracking and recording of all company expenses in line with OTO’s financial policies and the requirements of shipping clients;
• Contribute to financial planning and forecasting efforts that support long-term strategic initiatives and growth in the shipping platform landscape;
• Collaborate with the executive team to set and achieve financial targets and objectives for the finance department, aligned with OTO’s mission;
• Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of financial statements and budgets, ensuring they reflect OTO’s operational realities;
• Manage tax-related processes, including audits, returns, and VAT compliance, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations;
• Direct internal and external audits of OTO’s financial activities to confirm compliance with industry standards and regulations;
• Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial reporting;
• Develop and document financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and compliance within OTO’s shipping operations;
• Ensure all financial activities comply with GAAP principles and other regulatory requirements pertinent to the shipping industry;
• Generate and review financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring alignment with OTO’s business objectives and shipping sector demands;
• Monitor and reconcile sales reports with payment gateway transactions to ensure accuracy and reliability in financial reporting;
• Leading and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement in financial practices;
• Any other duties as required by management.
  
  

Requirements:

For this role, it is essential that have

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: 8+ years in finance roles, including 5+ years in management.
