Thermal System Design Engineer (Lead / Senior / Principal) Department: Product Engineering Discipline: Gas Turbine Propulsion – Turbojet & Turbofan Programs We are seeking an experienced Thermal System Design Engineer to play a key role in the development of advanced turbojet and turbofan engines. This is a high-impact position within our Product Engineering team, offering the opportunity to lead complex thermal, secondary air, and oil system design activities across cutting-edge gas turbine programs. What You’ll Be Doing As a Thermal System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:Performing component thermal analysis and simulations for full engine thermal mapping Conducting steady and transient thermal and secondary air flow assessments in gas turbine engine components Leading oil and lubrication system design and sizing, including seals, sumps, bearings, and pumps Developing and improving numerical and experimental methods for verification and validation Reviewing designs and simulations, and defining testing requirements and guidelines Identifying technical and program risks and creating effective mitigation plans Supporting and mentoring junior engineers, providing constructive technical feedback Collaborating cross-functionally with engineers, clients, and vendors???? Qualifications & Experience Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Strong foundation in gas turbine propulsion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics5–15+ years of relevant industry experience (level dependent: Lead / Senior / Principal) Fluency in English????️ Technical Skills & Expertise Hands-on experience with thermal system design and analysis for gas turbine applications Proficiency with commercial analysis tools such as Ansys Workbench (or equivalent) Experience in FEA, CFD, and/or lower-order simulation methods Knowledge of 1D flow network tools such as Flomaster or Amesim Programming experience with C, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar tools Awareness of state-of-the-art technologies in materials, aerodynamics, and structural mechanics, and how they interface with thermal system design Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proven ability to solve complex problems, prioritize effectively, and delegate when required
Please note this role is based in the UAE and requires relocation.
