Working as Landscape Pre & Post Contract QS
A Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing the financial aspects of landscape construction and maintenance projects. The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing inquiries, preparing estimates, drafting proposals & contracts, and ensuring smooth coordination between clients and operations teams. This role requires precision, adherence to procedures, and effective communication to deliver accurate and competitive estimations while supporting the company’s business objectives.
The role requires you to be experienced at both pre and post contract duties.
· Will be reporting to Landscape Manager/ Divisional Head.
· Cost Estimation: Responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for Soft, Hard, Irrigation & Pool projects, considering materials, Labour, equipment, and other associated expenses.
· Budget Monitoring: Work closely with the Landscape Manager to monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure adherence to financial plans.
· Quantity Take-offs: Perform accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings to estimate material quantities required for each project phase.
· Supplier and Contractor Communication: Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
· Contract Documentation: Assist in the preparation and review of contract documentation, including bills of quantities, payment schedules, and contract variations.
· Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports, highlighting budget variances and cost implications for management review.
· Value Engineering: Contribute to value engineering efforts by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
· Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess progress, verify work completed, and ensure compliance with quantity surveying standards.
· Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective communication and accurate cost control.
