Engineer, Cement

Job Purpose

Assess quality assurance and quality control of cement, cement additives, acid, and acid additives to ensure the performance as per oilfield standards.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
  • Identify, analyse and resolve operational and technical cementing issues.
  • Provide on-site technical support for critical cementing jobs and ensure engineering plans, procedures and specifications and QA/QC guidelines are applied. Check cementing equipment and materials. Work closely with on-site service company personnel to ensure optimum job performance and well integrity requirements are achieved.
  • Implement the best practices, including the lab testing procedure and conditions. Update the cementing manual with the best practices.
  • Prepare the annual cementing budget, including cement services, additives and contracts services. Assist in evaluating technically the service companies’ bids/offers and coordinates testing of sample products to ensure conformity with the Company’s approved standards and specifications. Participate in preparing cement and stimulation services tenders.
  • Forecast annual cementing material requirements and ensure adequate supplies are always available to meet operational needs.
  • Prepare cementing materials requirements and coordinate material transfers.
  • Monitor the contractors comply with contractual requirements including HSE and Quality compliance. Analyse the performance of cementing, down hole packer service companies.
  • Identify areas where improvements can be made in performance.
  • Assist the preparation and evaluation of tenders for cementing and downhole packer services. Record Corrective actions & Lessons Learned. Study and propose the introduction of new technology.
  • Work in line with HSE policy, awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations.

Job Purpose

Supervise and carry out the Installation, maintenance, commission, repair of electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and analytical instruments and control systems in the operating areas in line with HSE Guidelines, Operating & Maintenance Procedures and the Permit to Work system.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
  • Install, maintain and repair, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical and analytical instruments and control systems in the operating areas.
  • Supervise and participate in ESD system testing, plant shutdowns and the commissioning of new plant. Ensure the correct use and maintenance of workshop facilities and test equipment
  • Supervise and monitor the activities of assigned Technicians, Fitters and contractors’ personnel in carrying out the installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of instrumentation, control systems and related equipment to ensure work is performed within process control & safety systems.
  • Troubleshoot control related minor problems and report major problems/ discrepancies identified during ESD testing, and emergencies for timely resolution.
  • Carry out regular appraisals of spare parts availability including estimation of future requirements and arrange for requirement for new tools, test equipment and spare parts and other materials requirements to ensure availability.

  • Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.

  • Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment.

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
  • Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.

Housekeeping

  • Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during and after executing the job, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.

Reports

  • Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
  • Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.

Minimum Qualification

Diploma in Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

6 years of experience, in repair and maintenance of instrument & control equipment within a large industrial plant, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
