We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic ICT/Computer Teacher to join our International Program for Primary Grades 6, 7, 8, and 9. As an ICT/Computer Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in equipping students with essential computer knowledge and programming skills, including Scratch and Python. Your responsibilities will encompass fostering a stimulating learning environment, imparting computer skills, nurturing students' interest in programming, and utilizing Google Workspace for Education tools in teaching while using English only in your class.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the school's international curriculum team to design a comprehensive and culturally diverse ICT and programming curriculum for the designated grade levels.
- Effective Instruction: Implement the teaching plan effectively, focusing on computer fundamentals, digital literacy, and programming concepts.
- Programming Education: Teach programming languages such as Scratch and Python, ensuring students grasp fundamental coding principles and problem-solving skills.
- Interactive Teaching: Utilize creative teaching methods, interactive activities, and technology to engage and motivate students in the learning process, making ICT and programming accessible and enjoyable.
- Multicultural Awareness: Foster a multicultural and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to respect and appreciate different cultures, especially in the context of technology and its global impact.
- Parental Communication: Regularly communicate with parents to update them on students' progress in ICT and programming, promoting a strong home-school partnership.
- Differentiated Instruction: Identify students who may require additional support or enrichment in ICT and programming and provide individualized attention to cater to their learning needs.
- Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate students' performance, conduct assessments, and provide constructive feedback to encourage growth and progress in their ICT and programming skills.
- Adherence to Standards: Adhere to the school's teaching standards, international educational best practices, and safety regulations in the context of ICT and computer education.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an ICT/Computer Teacher in an international or multicultural educational setting, preferably at the elementary or middle school level.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies for students in Primary Grades 6-9.
- Passion for teaching ICT and programming, fostering students' digital literacy, and nurturing their interest in coding.
- Demonstrated creativity in delivering interactive and engaging lessons in ICT and programming.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to exhibit patience and flexibility in the classroom.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to create a positive learning environment.
- An additional teaching and/or educational license/certificate related to ICT or Computer Education is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Google Workspace for Education tools, is a plus.
- An outgoing and approachable personality, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- A team player willing to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school's community.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must meet any specific nationality or visa requirements as per the school's policies.
