UI/UX Designer

Penguin indoor positioning technology applies advanced machine learning to establish location of indoor objects, people and smartphones with up to one meter accuracy. This location data is used by PenTrack (asset tracking and location) and PenNav (indoor wayfinding) to enable value-centric use cases.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Analyze user data and feedback to identify design improvement opportunities.
  • Develop user personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups.
  • Apply information architecture principles to organize and structure content effectively.
  • Design intuitive navigation patterns and interaction models.
  • Create visually appealing interfaces, custom visual elements, and ensure design aligns with brand guidelines.
  • Plan and conduct usability tests and research studies.
  • Utilize a variety of testing tools, analyze results, and iterate designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating requirements into compelling design solutions.
  • Communicate design concepts effectively through presentations and documentation.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders, gather feedback, and incorporate it into design iterations.
  • Create interactive prototypes using industry-standard tools.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure design feasibility and implementation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in front-end development concepts, including HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in interactive design, new media design, or any related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in UI/UX design
  • Intermediate Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps.
  • Experience in creating and refining web apps, mobile application screens, and websites.
  • Proficiency in common industry applications (Figma, Adobe suite).

Desirable:

  • Basic knowledge of HTML & CSS


Technical Skills & Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Working knowledge of UX/UI design.
  • A portfolio of successfully completed projects for mobile applications, desktop software, and web applications, including converting designs to actual implementation.
  • Excellent knowledge in both mobile apps and web UI design.
  • Deep understanding of the fundamentals of the design thinking process.
  • Good knowledge of UI/UX principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of prototyping and related design tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate ideas, designs, and suggestions.
  • Strong team player who can collaborate effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Excellent skills in distilling simplicity from complex user requirements.

Desirable:

  • Staying up-to-date with UX trends and seeking creative ideas and inspiration from new trends and events.
  • Drawing skills and sketchbook technique.
