The Life Cycle Costing Engineer’s primary responsibility will be to analyze the costs associated with a project throughout its life cycle. This includes assessing the initial design and development costs, as well as maintenance, operation, replacement, and disposal costs.
The Life Cycle Costing Engineer will support the sector lead and head of the estimating unit in providing clients with market-leading consultancy services whilst adding value and driving continuous improvement in the delivery of cost-related FM services.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop life cycle cost estimates and budget projections (CAPEX and OPEX).
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements throughout the life cycle.
- Monitoring and evaluating actual costs against projected costs to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of cost estimates.
- Design and preparation of LCC models inclusive of construction costs, maintenance costs, operation costs, occupancy costs, end of life costs etc.
- Providing recommendations based on cost analysis findings.
- Create and maintain life cycle cost databases and templates
- Prepare reports and presentations on project life cycle costs and cost management strategies
- Through the implementation of LCC ensure best value for money solutions are recommended to Client.
- To stay abreast of the latest industry news, trends, and legislation to ensure that our clients are always presented with current and professional guidance.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Life Cycle Costing role. The last three of which must have been in a senior role.
- Must have solid FM or cost consultancy background.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quantity surveying or related qualification such as project management, business management or construction management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, stakeholders, and other team members.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of procurement and contracts.
- Experience with LCC cost estimating software and tools.
- Previous Middle East LCC experience (minimum 5 years)
- Has a solid foundation of understanding client business practices and goals; develops and formulates solutions to client problems on assigned projects.
