Role and Responsibilities:
- Performance tuning & Development of operational procedures & runbooks.
- Design modifications and changes to the IBM POWER, SAN infrastructure and assists in the implementation and documentation of all configuration changes.
- Perform daily AIX, Linux , storage engineer activities including management, zoning, provisioning, troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and professional work environment.
- Provide contractor or vendor proposals to the appropriate staff for review and approval.
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of AIX operating systems and related hardware.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure AIX systems are properly configured, patched, and updated.
- Monitor AIX system performance, identifying and resolving issues to optimize system responsiveness.
- Assist in storage solutions management, including SAN/NAS configurations, data migration, and backups.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure storage systems meet capacity and performance requirements.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing for AIX and storage systems.
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts for system and storage-related incidents, resolving issues promptly.
- Contribute to documentation of AIX and storage configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Assist in implementing security measures to protect AIX systems and storage infrastructure.
- Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years’ experience in AIX / Linux administration, storage solutions, or related IT roles.
- Excellent understanding of AIX / Linux operating systems, commands, and utilities.
