Job Overview

Responsible for supervising the accounts team in their day-to-day work and assigning tasks to them. Also prepares financial reports and works on special assignments dealing with accounting matters.


Job Responsibilities:

Business planning & budgeting

· Provide support to the Chief Accountant in the development of annual budget for the department.

Objective settings and achievements

· Support execution and achievements of department objectives and action plans.

Operational excellence - Finance & Accounts

  • Prepare and update monthly checklist to ensure the accounts team effectively and efficiently complete all month end tasks and reporting.
  • Ensure accounts payable transactions to suppliers and employees are in line with company policies.
  • Supervise and assist in posting financial transactions and the efficient management of new and existing supplier accounts.
  • Assist in monitoring all receivables to ensure cash flow is in line with company requirements, and in controlling fixed assets and inventories as per company guidelines.
  • Check supporting documentation for prime products and rental invoices for accuracy before releasing in the system.
  • Check LC documents and ensure the ongoing security and integrity of all financial data.
  • Check system control accounts and ensure outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Follow up claims from foreign suppliers & control reconciliation of all payables and major supplier accounts.
  • Ensure assets, employee and company insurances and warranties are valid and in line with ongoing business requirements.
  • Effect changes in computer system as may be required in coordination with the Senior Management.
  • Prepare various financial reports as required by management.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors and resolve queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Manage and monitor departmental activities in the absence of Chief Accountant.

Communication & team work

  • Communicate well with peers and other staff of the department as well as with other employees of the Branch.
  • Work closely with peers and develop strong synergy with Sales, Service and Parts employees.

· Ensure full compliance and adherence to all company policies and procedures.

· Promote and conduct business in a professional manner in order to protect the integrity of the Al-Bahar image.

Supplier relationship

· Maintain healthy and excellent relationships with the Banking and Financial Sectors in the territory & liaise with them for L/Cs, LGs, interest rates etc.

Qualification and Experience:


  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 6-8 years of accountancy experience.
