About This Opportunity

A new opportunity has become available for a Plant Manager to head up our beverage-can manufacturing site in Amman, Jordan.

This role reports to the Regional Manufacturing Director MEA and administratively to the General Manager Jordan. The plant runs on a 24/7 operation.

Your mission in Crown

The job holder will efficiently manage plant KPIs and the site employees, ensuring alignment with objectives set by the VP MEA and communicated by the Regional Manufacturing Director MEA.

These objectives include output, W/C, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that the highest safety standards are established / maintained.

The Plant Manager is responsible for setting an example to all employees, ensuring that Crown policies on ethics and integrity are understood and respected.

We are seeking a self-motivated leader who can successfully lead Engineering, Production, Quality and EHS teams of skilled and experienced individuals, ensuring efficient communication between all departments under the Plant Manager’s responsibility.

Main Responsibilities

  • Run and manage the plant in a manner that ensures Safety, Environment, Quality, Production, Engineering and Cost Control goals are met
  • Develop and successfully execute plans to deliver all Plant KPI’s: plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations, allocating resources effectively, following up the inventory level of the plant and minimizing customer complaints
  • Be a driving force in the Safety culture ensuring that all policies and regulations are followed and continuously improved
  • Lead, mentor, and coach direct reports
  • Build and maintain a trusting relationship with employees; communicate and regularly feedback on performance expectations
  • Prepare operations budget, RFCs and monitor and explain cost deviations / variances for plant departments

Required Education And Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Previous work experience of at least 5 years in a Plant Management, Production Management role
  • In-depth knowledge of business and management principles (i.e. budgeting, cost control)

  • Leadership skills
  • A hands-on approach when required
  • Data and analytical skills
  • Effective decision-making skills

Beneficial Experience And Skills

  • Experience in the metal packaging industry or in FMCG
  • Previous experience in implementing and using continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
  • Knowledge of food safely and other management systems
