Wellbeing Counselor
Job Description
The Wellbeing Counselor will work closely with employees to help them address any personal or work-related issues that may impact their mental health and well-being. The counselor will be responsible for providing counseling services, developing and implementing wellness programs, and collaborating with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to maintaining employee wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to employees with mental health concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all counseling sessions and treatment plans.
- Develop and implement evidence-based, data-driven wellness programs to promote mental
health and well-being among employees.
- Conduct assessments and create action plans for employees seeking wellbeing services.
- Design and disseminate surveys and analyze data to inform interventions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as human resources, business intelligence, and
operations to provide the best possible support for employees.
- Coordinate referrals with third-party psychiatrists and monitor treatment progress.
- Participate in training programs to stay current on mental health trends and best practices in the field of wellbeing.
- Remain up to date with professional development opportunities.
- Promote mental health awareness and education throughout the organization through
workshops, newsletters, and distribution of other digital materials.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by direct manager.
Essential Requirements
- 2 years of experience providing counseling or therapy services to individuals and groups
- Knowledge of mental health issues and treatment modalities.
- Intermediate English language (B1-B2).
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft office packages.
- Knowledge or experience in applying international guidelines for mental health care integration into primary health care (e.g. WHO’s tools, as mhGAP, PM+, etc.).
- Knowledge of local cultures and barriers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for client privacy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience with crisis intervention and referrals to outside resources.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field
