Lecturer in Foundation Mathematics

Faculty / Directorate

The Global Pathways Centre (GPC) in the Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities is home to the International Year Zero (IYZ) Foundation Programme. The IYZ pathway programme offers an innovative specialist route to prepare and enable students to successfully progress to their chosen degree programmes. The GPC supports students and faculty with a multidisciplinary enhanced curriculum that equips students with the skills and specialist knowledge to prepare and develop their key generic and transferable skills to strengthen students’ employability portfolio.

Role

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Foundation Mathematics. You will be required to lead, develop, and teach on the IYZ Maths Study Skills module for foundation students as well as delivering in-sessional Maths support for our undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition, you will contribute to the DMU’s research activities and development of specialist pathway courses.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking applicants with expertise in teaching and delivering Mathematics modules for foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students and be familiar with teaching and learning within a higher education or academic level institution. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with all members of the University community. You will share DMU’s passion to provide outstanding and inclusive outcomes for all its students. You will hold a recognized Master’s or PhD qualification in Applied Mathematics or a related discipline. We would particularly welcome applications from those with experience teaching Maths software such as MyLab.
