Position Summary
We are looking for a Confectioner who will be responsible for managing and execution of prototyping product development for Nestle Middle East work closely with BU/project managers/production/quality/engineering/suppliers experts on planning, carrying out and following up product developments both kitchen scale and to full scale industrialization.
The Confectioner will build their own operational knowledge of the technologies available within own field, CTAG, PTC and Zone and pro-actively look for opportunities in Confectionery developments for Innovation & Renovation supporting Business strategy and ensure that the developed products keep their sensorial parameters during their shelf life
A DAY IN THE LIFE …
Execution of I&R Strategy:
- To support the development and introduction of new and innovative product concepts within factory, while taking into consideration compliance with Nestle and external standards and policies.
- To supports factory and marketing teams on projects / initiatives related to product development, including sample provision for key events.
- To be aware of new developments in Confectionery ingredients, finished products, processing and technologies
Process:
- Prepare/Conduct Kitchen trial recipes and tasting
- Conduct Keeping Quality Test study for I&R products
- Optimization/Improvement of current products and processes within factory using local business and supply situation
- Initiate and contribute towards projects/initiatives related to product improvements
- Conducting innovation session with RM's suppliers exploring ideas for new products development/improvements
- Coordinate with other department in preparation/conducting of production line trials
- Prepare samples for PTC/SBU and other Nestle factory requirements and request
- Maintaining housekeeping and 5S in AG Kitchen
Recipe management:
- In charge with kitchen trial recipe preparation and tasting
- Creating RM’s specification and development Recipe
- Participate in developing new/alternative raw and packaging materials and specifications.
People development:
- Coach the members of AG team
- Transfer knowledge to AG member and Production tea
What Will Make You Successful…
- Working in a fast moving, complex environment requiring flexibility, preferably with a factory confectionary background
- Relevant Academic qualification is preferred
- Involvement in multiple development projects
- Involvement in continuous improvement processes
- Ability to prioritize workload and support decision making
- Demonstrate some Project Management skills
- Confidence and ability to escalate issues to the appropriate functional person responsible and the ability to challenge peers when necessary
