Microsoft System Administrator

Purpose and Scope of Position

The purpose of this position is to manage all MSD 365 operations and continue to develop, implement, and ensure the proper functionality of the ERP software system (MS Dynamics 365 or “D365”) to meet the financial and business needs of Acuative. This is accomplished by working directly with the Finance department and other users, designing reports and developing new processes to better align with best practices. Other duties include evaluating the monthly closing and consolidation process to streamline in conjunction with integration with other business applications and further D365 automation.

Reporting to the VP, of Finance, the MSD 365 Technical Adminstrator will oversee the configuration, development, improvement, and support of the MS Dynamics 365 operations used by the business. Suitable candidates will need to have proven experience working extensively with MS Dynamics D365 F&O and strong working knowledge of MS Power Platform and Azure, together with proven ability to learn and test new business application functionalities and experience using and developing the report tool function.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Engaging with departments to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications for the MS Dynamics 365 F&O system
  • Working with departments to facilitate application configuration changes, workflows, reporting and enhancements in line with business needs to drive efficiencies
  • Defining and managing best practice methodologies for application development and solution management
  • Working with the tech team to take responsibility for change management for the Dynamics F&O environment including test installation, software deployment, security changes, and data alterations
  • Adhering to change control policy for all application developments and configurations
  • Facilitating knowledge transfers through cross-functional communications and documentation
  • Producing business documentation including business processes, technical specifications, solution designs, configuration and security protocols, report wireframes, and training documentation
  • Automate, improve, and streamline reporting processes.
  • Continuous Development of D365 – Maintain and manage all updates and modifications to D365.
  • Helpdesk inquiries – Monitor and respond to helpdesk tickets regarding D365.
  • Integrate data between D365 and other business applications.

  • Internal – Senior Management team, Managers and employees.
  • External – D365 VAR.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires broad knowledge in the general accounting field with specific experience working with enterprise systems. Knowledge is normally acquired through 4 years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree in at least Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience
  • Extensive experience working with Dynamics D365 F&O
  • Strong proven experience working with MS Power Platform and Azure
  • Proven ability to learn and test new business application functionalities
  • Excellent working knowledge of other MS packages and other relevant IT systems
  • Up-to-date knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and certain “best practices” would be advantageous
  • Energetic with strong interpersonal skills; team player.
  • Must be comfortable and conversant working with systems and technology.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skill; proficient in use of Sequel, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced organization
  • Ability to explain technologies and workflows to non-technical people
  • Previous experience working in project teams
  • Additional Qualifications Desired
  • Post-graduate degree
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) would be advantageous but not mandatory


Physical Demands

Working at a desk, using PC and telephone.

Travel (to other Acuative offices) as needed, from time to time.
