What You Will Do

The Regional Information, Technology and Communication (ICT) officer for the Norwegian Refugee Council Middle East and North Africa Office (MENA RO ) is responsible for ensuring all NRC Global & Local ICT policies and guidelines are implemented in the most efficient and cost-effective set-up, also will be responsible for technical support and training and ICT induction for staff as required .

Generic Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
  • Any other task as designated .

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing first-level support to NRC staff, including but not limited to network, printers, computer software and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Ensures effective coordination of ICT helpdesk functions and provide support to NRC Staff.
  • Assist in roll out of new software or hardware to all devices.
  • Assure that all software on NRC equipment is licensed and keep record of licenses and support contracts to include notification of renewal timeframe to management.
  • Manage telecommunication service provider, including tracking and troubleshooting problems, issuing new numbers and internet services.
  • Conduct awareness sessions and ICT training when needed

Professional competencies, Qualifications & Skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering , Software , ICT helpdesk or any relevant field,
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience related to ICT helpdesk and troubleshooting.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Ability to keep up to date with modern ICT trends
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Office 365, and Network Infrastructure

Context-related skills, knowledge, and Experience:

  • Experience working as a Support Function in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience in ICT Technical Support, or any relevant field related to IT.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced technical background in Windows, MS Office, and Office 365, experience in troubleshooting and configuring networks,
  • Upper intermediate level of English both written and verbal.

By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are

  • Syria Response Office (SRO ) ICT Coordinator.
  • Syria Country Office (SCO ) ICT Coordinator.
  • MENA Amman staff and visitors (External Stakeholders).
  • Head Office ICT Team .

Additional Important Information:

Grade: Grade 5 Officer level , Junior Level

Reports to : Regional ICT Manager .

Duty station: Amman, Jordan

Type of contract: National Fixed-Term Contract

Duration: till 31 Dec 2024 with the possibility of extension (subject to funding availability, business need, and satisfactory performance)
