Job Description: The Department of Philosophy at the American University in Cairo (AUC) is seeking to recruit a renewable four-year position in Philosophy, to begin in Spring 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue an active research agenda. Teaching experience is an asset. English is the language of instruction. The successful candidate will have a teaching-load of three courses per semester, with two preparations, as s(he) will each teach two sections per semester of AUC's freshman/sophomore level Philosophical Thinking course. AOS: Open, candidates with a specialization in Philosophy of Science and/or Artificial Intelligence may be at an advantage. AOC: History of Philosophy and Introduction to Philosophy (the ability to successfully teach introductory, core-curriculum courses in Philosophical Thinking is essential).
