Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a Senior Project Manager - Waste Management to join our award-winning Sustainability and Environment Division based in Amman, Jordan.


This role will be responsible for delivering large scale waste management projects in middle east and will support the KEO Environmental Division on Waste Management Policy and strategy.


We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Planning and managing waste Infrastructure Projects of a medium to high level of risk and complexity, ensuring that they are delivered to a high quality, on time, on budget, and to client expectations. Typically oversees large and/or multidisciplinary project teams (including several significant sub consultants) through consistent performance management and development of staff, and effective communication.
  • Ability to liaise with Government departments, relevant to the waste management project requirements.
  • Providing guidance on waste management projects and requirements when required and deliver high quality solid waste related projects, which could include strategic planning, facility (transfer station, MRF, MBT, Waste to Energy) design, consistently with a focus on meeting program and budgetary control.
  • Planning, organizing and undertaking solid waste analysis, research, reporting and manage successful completion of the waste management responsibilities as required by the project scope.
  • Ensuring that the solid waste management requirements of local legislation and international best practice standards are complied with.
  • Assisting in generating and following up on business opportunities throughout UAE/KSA and in other KEO locations where required by the Supervisor.
  • Assisting in the preparation or contribute to tender proposals for the Waste Departments, and for cross discipline bids managed by Project Managers within other KEO Divisions.
  • Assisting in the preparation and arrangement of presentations and meetings with potential and current Clients.
  • Building upon Project Management capability of others and actively transfer technical expertise within the organization.
  • Preparing monthly Project Report and input to consolidated Division Report.
  • Leading a team of professional employees, driving increased organizational performance and achievement of team goals.
  • Analysing existing work processes, procedures and systems, identifying opportunities for increased efficiencies cost-effectiveness and service improvements.


Qualification

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envisage that you will bring a minimum of 15 years' career experience working in engineering, including design, business development with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role partnered with a Bachelor degree in Waste Management or Environmental Science or similar. Masters preferred.


  • GCC experience advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Solid Waste Management Legislative requirements (various Middle East locations), or possess the ability to acquire knowledge quickly.
  • MCIWM would be advantageous.
  • Experience across all fields of Solid Waste Management (from planning to design and monitoring).
