Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in food engineering and project management to lead and implement food safety and development projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing and submitting winning proposals, managing project budgets, identifying new clients in the Food & Beverage (F&B) industry, and ensuring successful execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Proposal Development & Submission
- Research and identify relevant project opportunities (grants, tenders, NGOs, public/private sector).
- Write, develop, and submit comprehensive technical and financial proposals in collaboration with MEFOSA teams.
- Project Planning & Implementation
- Develop and manage detailed project plans including timelines, resource allocation, deliverables, and KPIs.
- Supervise project activities to ensure alignment with scope, budget, and timeframes.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Budget Management
- Prepare and monitor project budgets.
- Track expenditures and ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Generate financial reports for stakeholders.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and engage potential clients within the F&B industry.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, donors, and stakeholders.
- Present project progress and results through reports and meetings.
- Business Development
- Contribute to MEFOSA’s strategic growth by identifying market trends and new business opportunities.
Assist in marketing and promotion of MEFOSA services in Lebanon and the MENA region
Skills
- Master’s degree in food engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
- PMP certification (Project Management Professional) is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in food safety, agriculture, or food processing sectors.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills (in English and Arabic).
- Experience with donor-funded projects, NGOs, or government contracts is a plus.
- Proven experience in budgeting, proposal writing, and implementation of development projects.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry practices in the MENA region.
- Must be based in or near Beirut, Lebanon, and able to travel when needed.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development.
