- Lead the mechanical design and development of electrical enclosures, components, and systems (e.g., switchgears, panels, transformers, or power distribution units).
- Perform mechanical analysis including stress, thermal, and tolerance analysis to ensure safety, compliance, and durability.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure integration of mechanical and electrical design requirements.
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, die casting).
- Supervise prototype development, testing, and validation of mechanical designs.
- Review and approve mechanical drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement in design quality, cost-efficiency, and production throughput.
- Work with suppliers and production teams to resolve mechanical issues and ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles are applied.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant safety standards and compliance requirements (e.g., IEC, UL, RoHS).
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
