Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily transportation and logistics operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for transportation management.
- Monitor fleet performance, route optimization, and fuel efficiency to minimize costs.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safety standards of the fleet and transportation equipment.
Strategic Planning & Development:
- Assist in setting long-term strategies to improve transportation infrastructure and services.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements, including the use of technology and automation.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Financial & Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Monitor and analyze financial reports, fuel expenses, and operational costs to optimize spending.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality and compliance.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all local and international transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Monitor adherence to company policies, driver training programs, and accident prevention initiatives.
- Work with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and licenses.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise and mentor transportation managers, dispatchers, and logistics staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide necessary training for continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and government entities.
- Negotiate contracts with transportation service providers to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal departments (HR, Finance, Operations) to align transportation goals with company objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fleet management systems, GPS tracking, route optimization software, and ERP solutions.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation laws, compliance, and safety standards.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven track record in team management, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Analytical & Financial Skills: Ability to analyze cost structures, optimize expenses, and improve operational efficiency.
- Communication & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to manage contracts and vendor relationships.
Experience in transportation/logistics companies or large-scale fleet management.Understanding of sustainable transportation practices and green logistics initiatives.Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
