1. Monitor and review all engineering processes, documentation,
tools, plant and computer software to ensure that these operate
effectively and are appropriate to meet production targets.
2. Recommend design requirements and modifications to company
products to ensure that they meet production standards and
existing and future customer requirements.
3. Review and evaluate any new equipment and processes to ensure
that they meet production requirements.
4. Review the engineering process and cost implications of proposed
new products.
5. Recommend any necessary changes to engineering processes to
improve efficiency, effectiveness and product quality.
6. Establish and maintain contacts with external suppliers to advise
them of any design constraints and requirements on machinery
and equipment supplied.
7. Maintain an awareness of developments in the field of production
engineering to ensure that the company continues to apply the
most effective processes and equipment
at least 2 years’ experience of production engineering in a relevantsector; knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvementtechniques; good knowledge of machinery and equipment used in the productionprocess; good analytical skills; good interpersonal skills
