Job Description
Executive and Technical Duties:
• Preparing periodic reports with respect to assigned tasks to be submitted to the Engineering Manager
• Apply knowledge of basic engineering principles and corrosion theory to execute projects or complete various aspects on projects
• Provide technical supervision and technical assistance to other divisions within the company
• Independently conduct various field tests (e.g. structure potential, soil resistivity, current requirements, etc.)
• Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables
• Conduct interference testing and coordinate bonding with client and affected companies
• Prepare final client report including service recommendations
• Conduct post installation survey
• Diagnose and remedy system difficulties during resurvey operations
• Coordinate engineering aspects of installation process
• Prepare survey and design reports
• Prepare CP designs, specifying anode type, quantity, and location; rectifier location, test station locations and other design features on prepared drawings
• Ensures optimum efficiency of Cathodic Protection operations for avoiding pipeline corrosion, by reviewing the coating and wrapping deterioration trends
• Performing other duties related to the job as assigned by the Engineering Manager
- Definition of Calculation methodology/ Protection method definition : Sacrificial or impressed insulated or not/
- Definition of Material and determine Environmental conditions
- Determination of the sacrificial anode quantities / location / material (Al /Zn / Mg) for the design life of the structure.
- Determination of the impressed current system size regarding the DC source and it’s associated anode ground bed
- Issuing of Bid Doc for Procurement use.
- Establishing bidder lists, evaluating and pre-qualifying vendors, bid assessments, audits, reviewing supplier’s documentation for compliance with client /international specifications /rules
- Assistance during MPQT, review for approval of subcontractor documentation
- Commissioning and start up operation.
- Management of CP site survey subcontractor on site.
Skills,Experience and Education
- Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferably with qualification in corrosion engineering.
- 5 years experience in process and utilities of petroleum refineries, chemical process plants.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
