We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Superintendent to join our team at Al Masane Al Kobra Mining (AMAK) in Saudi Arabia. This key role is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability initiatives, and best practices within a complex mining and heavy industrial environment. 


Located in the Al Joshwan mountain range, our operations produce zinc, copper, gold, and silver. In addition, there are several exciting exploration potentials under investigation. Across all operations and activities, AMAK is committed to minimizing environmental impact while maintaining world-class safety and operational excellence. 


This position is open exclusively to Saudi Nationals who are fluent in English and have experience in heavy industry, ideally in mining and working closely with government and regulatory authorities. JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Ensure compliance with Saudi environmental laws and regulations and internal AMAK policies. 
  • Develop, implement, and oversee environmental monitoring programs for air, water, and land quality. 
  • Lead waste management, hazardous materials handling, and pollution prevention initiatives.∙ Oversee mine closure and reclamation planning by best environmental practices. 
  • Work closely with government authorities, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance. 
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in sustainability programs, including water conservation and emissions reduction. 
  • Support internal teams with environmental awareness training and best practices. ∙ Prepare and submit environmental reports and impact assessments as required. 

Skills

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in an environmental role within heavy industry, preferably mining.∙ Strong knowledge of Saudi environmental regulations, NCEC requirements, and international best practices. 
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments, permitting processes, and sustainability initiatives. 
  • Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
