JOB DESCRIPTION

General Practitioner

Literature indicates that they are seen as the “gatekeepers” of service, responsible for planning and supervising home health care. Services a physician may provide include making the medical diagnosis and managing medical problems; preparing a treatment plan with short- and long-term goals; ordering ancillary personal care; prescribing equipment and supplies; reassessing the treatment plan; documenting medical records and providing for 24-hour physician coverage.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in medicine

· Must have a valid DOH license.

· Must be fluent in English. Speaking Arabic is a plus.

· Must have at least 2 years’ experience working as a Physician post-graduation.

· Must have a valid license to practice from the home country or country of last employment.

· Must have the Hepatitis B and Varicella vaccinations taken after employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Clinical responsibilities include initial clinical assessment of new patient, preparation of the new case settings and documents.

· Daily follow with The Nursing team in the field for providing clinical guide.

· Monthly visits for the patients for further assessment and follow-up

· The Physician is responsible for the organization and administration of patient care within their scope of practice.

· Participate in patient and family problem solving and teaching.

· Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

· Coordinates the delivery of care and provides leadership by working cooperatively with medical, ancillary and support staff in maintaining standards of professional practice in the clinical setting.

· Provides instruction and consultation to the facility staff as requested.

· Server as a member of the Agency’s Professional Advisory Board, MR and QI committees.

· Provides overall medical direction to the program.

· Develops and continually reviews, in cooperation with the manager of the Facility, criteria to monitor the quality of the education programs provided to other physicians or nurses and report same to the manager / CEO as needed.

· Works with the manager, after implementation of the programs, to determine the impact of said programs on the quality care.

· Conducts periodic in-services education programs for the facility personnel, POC review.

· Assists manager in resolving problems with medical community and gives directions in solving special patients care problems.

· Participates in continuing education programs.

· Servers as a liaison between the agency and other community physicians and community hospitals as needed.

· Oversee the clinical services of our home health care and occupational health practice.

· Verifying that cases are being charted correctly.

· Oversees the continuing education program for our staff of nurses, therapists.

· Reviews patient eligibility for hospice services.

Reporting Authority:

Reports to the CEO.
