Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Server Engineer to configure, manage, and optimize servers across a variety of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux. The ideal candidate will be responsible for server installation, issue resolution, system upgrades, and implementing performance enhancements to ensure reliability and efficiency.

In this role, you will be designing, implementing, and managing advanced enterprise system technologies. You will also support various technologies including Active Directory, DFS, Terminal Servers, Hyper-V, Internet Information Services (IIS), System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), and file server migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Server Management: Administer and maintain servers running on multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), ensuring optimal performance through regular updates, patches, and troubleshooting.

• Active Directory (AD) Support: Utilize AD to manage networks, users, and objects. Design and maintain AD domains, groups, and subgroups, ensuring access control is properly implemented.

• Cloud & Virtualization Support: Work with cloud solutions and virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix XenDesktop/VDI. Implement and manage scalable virtual environments.

• Systems Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Provide daily support for IT systems, resolving issues related to servers, network devices, storage, and client devices. Proactively monitor system health and address any issues that arise.

• Patch Management & Security: Maintain a strong understanding of patching tools and security vulnerability scanning. Analyze security reports, develop strategies to address vulnerabilities, and implement required changes.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT departments to assist with server-related projects and provide technical expertise for various system deployment and modification tasks.

• Continuous Learning & Knowledge Sharing: Research and stay up-to-date on emerging hardware and software technologies. Share knowledge with team members and help train others in the organization.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in server design, management, and support. Experience in configuring networks and SAN.

• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of server technologies, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, antivirus administration, and systems management tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible).

• Virtualization & Cloud: Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix XenDesktop/VDI solutions.

• Automation & Diagnostics: Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with expertise in automation solutions.

• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team environment, assisting other departments with server-related projects and tasks.

• Security Knowledge: Experience with patch management, security scanning tools, and vulnerability mitigation strategies.

Educational Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
