The Planning Manager will be based in Saudi Arabia. In this position, you will report to the Factory General Manager. The Planning Manager oversees the strategic planning process, ensuring that all projects and initiatives align with the organization’s goals and objectives. This role involves analyzing data, forecasting future needs, and coordinating with various departments to ensure effective execution of plans. Responsible for the provision, ongoing management & delivery of production operations plan & Master Production Schedule within NX. To execute day to day planning activities (materials, resources, warehouse) ensuring on time delivery (OTD). Management and maintenance of Planning module on company MRP system. Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…

General Task Management

  • Accountable for delivering the overall Production Plan & Master Production Schedule to meet Sales orderbook requirements.
  • Oversee the production plan of finished goods (make to stock) and Sales Orders (make to order) and appropriate schedules for work over short-, medium- and long-term planning horizons, integrating resource planning, materials, estimating and forecasting.
  • Lead capacity planning activities ensuring delivery against operational requirements and which optimize manufacturing efficiency and costs. Monitor, record and report progress/issues regarding MPS and Sales Orderbook delivery to Head of Production Operations. Report any capability or capacity constraints to allow for priority production decisions to be made.
  • Provide the direction and management of the operations planning team. Develop the capability and competence of the team driving high performance.
  • Assess existing capacity and develop operational plans and forecasts based on future demand.
  • Ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, whilst optimizing costs.
  • Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production.
  • Perform and engage with the cross functional team (Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Materials Management, Production, Test, Sales, Service), and provide production planning leadership as required.
  • Responsible for the development of ‘fit for purpose’ Planning procedures, processes & policies working with the Senior Leadership Team, encouraging best practice and a culture of Continuous improvement across all planning & materials management processes.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with planning procedures throughout Production Operations team.

Warehouse & Logistic Management

  • Ensure an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand.
  • Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are always understood and practiced by the team.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods.
  • Drive a zero-tolerance mindset for deviation from the use of quality processes to ensure customer deliverables are met fully.
  • Understand customer needs and ensure alignment with the needs/commitments of the business.
  • Plan future capacity requirements.
  • Keep up to date and respond accordingly to all enquiries
  • Ensure inventories are accurate and control inventory levels by ensuring physical counts are conducted and reconciled with automated system utilizing help of the warehouse team.
  • Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirement including utilities like forklifts, stackers and pallet trolleys.
  • Create and implement best practice warehousing principles, policies and processes.
  • Ensure that health and safety meet the required standards and that risk assessments are carried out.
  • Ensure any hazardous materials are stored in accordance with requirements
  • Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers.
  • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs. Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers. Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency and select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.

People Management

  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing Procurement team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.

Financial and Budget Control

  • Input and hold responsibility for Warehouse budgets.

Relationship Management

  • Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the maintenance strategy.

Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…

  • Bachelor of Engineering or BBA
  • Proven 10-12 years of experience as a Planning manager
  • A results-driven approach and a keen eye for detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Good technical and IT skills , working knowledge of SAP or NetSuite will be advantage

Here are a few of our preferred experiences…

  • Extensive plant level experience with significant proven Planning (Demand & Capacity planning, Production planning & Logistic) and warehouse management experience.
  • Proven experience in a planning role, preferably within an automotive or steel fabrication manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvement
  • Knowledge of various processes from Fabrication, Product Assembly, Plating etc.
  • Demonstrable experience of running a warehouse, preferably in the Manufacturing, automotive industry.
  • A full understanding of the requirements of running a warehouse, such as health and safety and security requirements to include certification of dangerous goods handling and aviation security.
  • Team player with strong organizational skills.
