Position Overview
Yahsat Space Lab (YSL) at KU is looking for motivated candidates to join our team as a Research Engineer to support spacecraft Electrical and Power System (EPS). The satellite EPS research engineer is responsible for ensuring the overall satellite EPS and relevant systems by providing necessary technical oversight and performing functional duties as required. In addition, the EPS research engineer will directly support satellite program development at YSL, and engage in developing electrical systems architecture and electrical and power units, and supporting required electrical hardware tests; from prototyping to in-flight testing, throughout mission development cycle and on-orbit operation.
The research engineer will also supervise, together with the project team, graduate students to gain hands-on experience in developing satellites electrical and power systems. The current lab team is composed of several systems engineers and experts working mainly on satellites subsystems development.

Position Requirements
- Design the spacecraft Electronics and Power Subsystem – EPS (electrical, data, grounding, harness, etc.), in coordination with the project team consisting of Structure, Propulsion, ADCS, etc.
- Space segment procurement activities focusing on EPS and general electrical design and test equipment.
- Participate in the electrical integration and the testing of different spacecraft modules, including the preparation of the bill of material, integration procedures for all active subsystems in collaboration with the systems engineer.
- Design specific boards and harnesses for the satellite; including component selection, schematics and routing.
- Participate in the development of power management software with the embedded software team.
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation relevant to EPS.
