Job Summary:
The Coffee House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the coffee house, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of product quality, and leading a team of baristas and support staff. This role involves managing inventory, training staff, handling customer inquiries and complaints, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision and Development:
- Supervise and support baristas and other coffee house staff during shifts.
- Train new employees on coffee preparation techniques, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure all customers receive prompt and friendly service.
- Address customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all patrons.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee house.
- Manage cash handling procedures, including daily cash flow reports and bank deposits.
- Product Quality and Inventory:
- Ensure the consistent quality of all coffee beverages and food items.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary to avoid stockouts.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and manage waste reduction strategies.
- Sales and Promotion:
- Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies to increase revenue.
- Promote new products and seasonal offerings.
- Coordinate and execute in-store promotions and events.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or business management is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a coffee house or similar setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment.
