Job Summary:

The Coffee House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the coffee house, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of product quality, and leading a team of baristas and support staff. This role involves managing inventory, training staff, handling customer inquiries and complaints, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment.



Key Responsibilities:


  1. Staff Supervision and Development:
  • Supervise and support baristas and other coffee house staff during shifts.
  • Train new employees on coffee preparation techniques, customer service, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.


  1. Customer Service:
  • Ensure all customers receive prompt and friendly service.
  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all patrons.


  1. Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee house.
  • Manage cash handling procedures, including daily cash flow reports and bank deposits.


  1. Product Quality and Inventory:
  • Ensure the consistent quality of all coffee beverages and food items.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary to avoid stockouts.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and manage waste reduction strategies.


  1. Sales and Promotion:
  • Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies to increase revenue.
  • Promote new products and seasonal offerings.
  • Coordinate and execute in-store promotions and events.



Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or business management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a coffee house or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment.
