Internship Opportunity - Engineering

The USAID Water Engineering Services (WES) Activity, implemented by SAJDI, provides engineering technical support for water and wastewater projects in Jordan. This includes conducting engineering assessments, studies, designs, and overseeing construction management projects in various locations within Jordan.

WES is seeking motivated individuals for an internship opportunity to support the project team in carrying out essential duties.

Duration

4 months, mentored by the Chief of Party (CoP) and Task Leaders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with up to 1 year of experience, preferably in engineering or similar.
• Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe document management, AutoCAD and GIS software.
• Very good English writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in teams or work alone with little direction.

Scope of Work

The internship will entail both engineering and administrative tasks, as outlined below.

• Assist in drafting and distributing project technical reports and documents.
• Assist with design tasks for wastewater collection, treatment, and reuse systems.
• Assist with design tasks for water supply and distribution systems.
• Attend meetings and compile meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders and participate in site visits.
• Support the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and Communication team as needed.
• Support project quality requirements in coordination with the Quality Manager.
• Support administrative tasks and follow-ups as directed by the CoP.
• Support in preparation of training events, including material, procurement, and attendee coordination.
• Collaborate with WES staff on additional program management, training, and other activities, including attending meetings, workshops, and developing presentations and materials.
• Document project-related meetings, letters, reports, and site visits.
• Assist with any other tasks as instructed by the CoP.
