AML & Risk Expert

Key Accountabilities :


  • Complete customer risk rating , fraud risk and AML assessment control documents in a timely manner.
  • Ensure KYC/KYA files are accurate, complete and well-substantiated and completed within the specified timeframe.
  • Investigate and assess alerts relating to potential ML/TF risks in the organization.
  • Ensure efficient identification and monitoring of activities and transactions considered suspicious.
  • Collect documentary proof, build and maintain case files for transactions deemed suspicious.
  • Arrange weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping of data collected and analyzed.
  • Ensure an effective optimization of the Transaction Monitoring tool through timely rationalization/creation of rules basis trends.
  • Other tasks assigned by Risk & Compliance Manager from time to time related to AML/CTF.
  • Prepare SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) report for any suspicious behavior as a deputy for the reporting officer.
  • Submit SAR’s to the financial intelligence unit and follow up with them on any inquires as a deputy for the reporting officer.
  • Inform the relevant authorities of any breaches.
  • Respond to the letters received from the relevant competent authorities.
  • Work to develop AML guidance materials, training resources, and controls.
  • Develop policies internally relating to AML/CTF in the company and oversee the implementation of those policies.
  • Ensure that all customers on the onboarding phase are checked against the sanction lists.
  • Ensure that all customers on-going are checked against the sanction lists.
  • Ensure the update and the management of all sanction lists.
  • Report results of reviews of AML risk assessments and monitor remedial proceedings.
  • Implement the annual AML/CTF plan and perform the relevant quality assurance checks to ensure adherence.
  • External fraudulent situations or revenue leakage to ensure proper management of these situations.
  • Develop and monitor fraud and revenue leakage detection, prevention and control actions within the company in order to minimize potential losses for the company.
  • Develop, organize, and coordinate revenue leakage detection plan in order to eliminate revenue leakage possibilities and potential fraud risks.
  • Promote the revenue integrity and control in the company in order to spread awareness about potential risks.
  • Report to the Top management on major fraudulent incident and revenue leakage/ integrity that may preclude achievement of the company objectives to ensure that proper corrective or preventive action is taken in due time.
  • Reviews and research new technologies and /or systems developed for various types of fraud and revenue leakage.
  • Organize, directs, motivate, and control the Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management Department personnel and ensuring that objectives are established and communicated, monitored, and reviewed to ensure high level of performance.


Education & Experience :


  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management.
  • 3- 5 years experience, 3 of them compliance, audit, or risk management.
  • Strong understanding of financial operations and financial products and services.
  • Related experience in banking is prefer.
