About The Role & Team

The Solution Engineer provides customers with professional, timely, accurate, and effective solutions and proposals to provide SITA services. The Solution Engineer drives new business opportunities by leveraging knowledge of information technologies and the air transport industry. The role produces cost-effective, deliverable solutions based on a detailed pre-sales review of customer requirements, strong product knowledge and applicable professional services. The commercial goals are to increase overall customer satisfaction, expand new business revenue, and promote continuing revenue retention.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the prime interface to customers on technical & commercial matters and lead customer engagements, from initial contact to solution deployment.
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers, work with customers to better understand their business, and develop sound solutions to meet the customer's business requirements.
  • Work closely with Account Managers/Directors to develop sales and accounts development strategies.
  • Promote SITA by furnishing customers with comprehensive, up-to-date information on current products, product enhancements, and new solutions, through customer meetings and workshops.
  • Design and coordinate the development of business solutions which may involve multiple parties both internally and externally.
  • Support the technical qualification of customers' communication needs through knowledge of current, new or evolving technologies, and SITA solution portfolios.
  • Liaise with various internal stakeholders, such as Pricing, Customer Service, and Project Management, to build the business case for customer proposals.
  • Own the technical parts of proposals and RFP responses submitted to customers.
  • Work closely with the project manager to ensure efficient transfer of projects for implementation.
  • Collect and report on all customer service subscription parameters to analyze and identify potential customers' requirements and proactively work with customers to source for new opportunities.
  • Interact with colleagues to gain and share ideas and opportunities, provide and accept coaching and mentoring in pre-sales activities.


Qualifications

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering and Computer Technologies or any other related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in pre-sales Solution Design role.
  • Proven track record in producing, communicating, and documenting successful technical customer solutions.
  • Working knowledge of technologies related to software applications, system integrations, business analytics, and familiarity with infrastructure solutions.
  • Capable of interacting with key decision-makers.
  • Customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent in problem resolution and presentation skills.
  • Able to interact professionally in a team environment and communicate with customers at all levels from users to senior business sponsors.
  • High level of customer service orientation required.
  • Customer Empathy: The solution Engineer needs to be able to build rapport and communicate effectively with individuals and groups of customers at all levels of seniority and influence to elicit an understanding of the customer's objectives, challenges, pain points, and business requirements.
  • Solution Presentation: The solution Engineer needs to be able to present with authority and credibility to internal stakeholders individual users and senior customers. This will include challenging the customer's requirements and convincing the customer of alternatives, influencing the decision-making process, being perceived as a trusted advisor, etc.


NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience in border management solutions is a plus (Border Control, ABC Gates/Kiosks, Visa Management Systems, Advance Passenger Information Systems, Biometrics)
  • Cloud Solution Architect Certifications (Azure or AWS).
