Our newest opportunity is for a talented Telecommunications Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Amman, Jordan.
This critical role will work as part of the Infrastructure team, supporting the development of telecommunication networks, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems, CCTV, and Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems for various urban infrastructure projects.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Designing telecommunication networks for urban infrastructure projects.
- Developing ICT systems to support smart city initiatives and infrastructure management.
- Designing CCTV systems for public safety and security.
- Planning ELV systems for various applications within the urban environment.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of telecommunication and ICT systems with other infrastructure components.
- Preparing technical documentation, including design specifications, system layouts, and project reports.
- Collaborating and coordinating with other disciplines to achieve a fully integrated design.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry and local standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for telecommunication and ICT systems.
- Staying updated with the latest advancements in telecommunication technologies and smart city solutions.
- Preparing and reviewing the design of telecom infrastructure duct routing.
- Ensuring all calculations are prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Authority Standards and Codes of Practice as per the project location and requirement.
- Coordinating the day-to-day coaching to junior staff within this discipline.
- Coordinating and giving technical guidance to CAD Technicians / BIM Technicians to produce drawings and models.
- Monitoring the technical quality of the projects to ensure that the projects delivered to Clients are of the highest technical quality and engineering practice standard.
- Coordinating with other disciplines to achieve a fully integrated design.
- Liaising with the Client and Authority representatives to obtain design approvals, as necessary.
- Providing discipline’s input for technical proposals for submission to external parties.
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field. We welcome all levels of experience, with more than 5 years of experience in a similar position.
Furthermore, you should demonstrate:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing telecommunication networks and ICT systems.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV and ELV systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to telecommunication and ICT systems.
- Proficient in relevant software and tools for system design and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in software such as Autodesk AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Knowledge in BIM and AutoCAD Civil 3D is an advantage.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills in English.
