Role
As Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee and manage the maintenance operations of our warehouse facilities, ensuring the smooth functioning of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems, HVAC, electrical systems, civil infrastructure, freezers, and chillers. You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled technicians to maintain a safe and efficient work environment for all warehouse operations and DSV facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, lead, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians responsible for MEP, HVAC, electrical systems, civil infrastructure, and cooling systems (freezers, chillers) in the warehouse.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the preventive maintenance (PM) program for all critical systems including HVAC, electrical, MEP, chillers, freezers, and civil infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Oversee troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, HVAC, MEP, and cooling systems issues. Ensure quick response and minimal downtime in case of emergencies or equipment failure.
- Continuously monitor the performance of HVAC, electrical, MEP, and refrigeration systems to ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and operational standards.
- Supervise maintenance and repair activities for the building’s civil infrastructure, including plumbing, flooring, roofing, and other structural elements. Maintain the overall facility condition, addressing any wear and tear issues.
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with local regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Lead initiatives to maintain a safe working environment by ensuring that maintenance personnel follow appropriate safety protocols.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance work and manage vendor relationships to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Assist in budgeting and cost management for maintenance activities. Ensure that maintenance expenditures are within the allocated budget while maintaining high standards of facility upkeep.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns or system failures promptly, coordinating repairs and ensuring minimal disruption to warehouse operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of equipment, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Provide ongoing training to maintenance staff, ensuring they are well-versed in the operation and repair of all critical systems, as well as in safety procedures and best practices.
Skills
Educational Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Certifications in HVAC, Electrical, or MEP systems are a plus.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems, electrical systems, refrigeration (freezers/chillers), MEP systems, and civil infrastructure, preferably within a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of maintenance technicians to achieve operational excellence.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
