- Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to meet product quality, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct scheduled and surprise audits of supplier facilities to assess manufacturing processes, quality controls, and adherence to regulations and ethical practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, production) to define specifications and quality standards for raw materials and finished goods.
- Inspect and test raw materials/components upon receipt to ensure compliance with specifications through physical, chemical, or microbiological methods.
- Identify defects or process deviations and work with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Identify risks related to quality, compliance, or supplier reliability and develop mitigation strategies (e.g., alternative sourcing, improved testing).
- Train suppliers on quality standards and safety protocols while facilitating alignment between suppliers and internal QA teams.
- Maintain records of audits, inspections, and corrective actions and report supplier quality performance to management for decision-making.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of experience with experience in the food sector preferred.
