PURPOSE
Based at the Regional Communication Center in Cairo, the Digital Marketing Officer is in charge of developing and implementing digital promotion strategies at regional and country level, while ensuring a strong link with the ICRC’s organizational strategy. S/he guides in allocating the digital promotion budget for the language and region covered and acts as an ambassador for the implementation of the digital strategy of the organization.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Internally, interacts in the field with digital officers, audiovisual producers, heads of communication programs in the region covered, the Regional Communication Center colleagues, and other communications teams at the headquarters.
- Externally, interacts with vendors, digital marketing agencies, freelancers, and pro-bono partners.

Standard function description:
Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities
- Supports rollout of the ICRC’s digital strategy at global, regional and local levels.
- Manages a digital marketing budget.
- Works with the external digital marketing agency on reaching key performance indicators.
- Is responsible for the implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined during the annual planning process.
- Geographic remit Middle and Near East (NAME) region and Arabic language speaking contexts but works also with the digital marketing manager at headquarters in Geneva and at other regional communication centers.
- Marketing deployment
- Set up performance indicators and benchmarks for online platforms in the region and supervise and report on the implementation.
- Provide training in digital marketing to the staff running digital platforms in the region.
- Identify and integrate the best practice of promotion and online marketing adapted to regional target audiences.
- Translate the institutional digital strategy into tactics and action plans and help delegations in defining their local digital strategy and plans.
2.Campaigns and promotions
- Promote ICRC digital platforms and campaigns through social media and search-engine marketing channels in the region.
- Manage promotion campaigns and take measures to increase traffic.
- Manage budget and report on implementation rate for digital marketing activities.
- Reporting, monitoring, and trends

- Analyze data from ICRC online platforms, draw up reports, and recommend ways to optimize the conversion rate and achieve the organizational set KPIs.
- Help to improve the tools for analyzing statistics and find ways to meet market standards and the organization’s needs.
- Develop competitive intelligence knowledge.

3.Supporting social strategy & content
- Provide strategic support to promote engaging content for our digital channels and advise on the best content formats to push on each platform (photo galleries, feature stories…) in collaboration with colleagues at regional and global level.
- Monitor engagement on all social media platform and report on them periodically, while flagging any critical/relevant information related to contexts covered by the RCC.
- ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Reporting: The Digital Marketing Officer participates in weekly, quarterly, biannual and ad-hoc reports.
- Administration – Finance
- Ensures necessary administrative work is implemented on time. Supports in preparing contracts with LOG and SR of the digital Marketing activities.
- Knows, applies and complies with all the administrative and financial rules.
- Treatment of information:
He registers and treats information accurately and confidentially when applicable, and saves important messages, documents and materials of interest to the ICRC in the electronic archive.
Minimum required knowledge & experience:University-degree level in marketing and business development or any relevant degree.5-8 years in digital marketing and expertise in digital advertising tools and platforms (e.g. Google Ads, META Business Manager, HubSpot).Advanced mastery of both social media and web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, SEO tools, Sprinklr, Microsoft Excel).Proficiency in digital content tools (e.g. content management systems (CMS, such as WordPress and Drupal) and Willingness to learn on additional digital creative tools (Canva, PhotoShop) if needed.Fluent command of Arabic and English. Field experience, with the ICRC or similar organization, an advantage.Proven experience in translating strategy into tactics and defining clear goals.Good knowledge of lead generation and user journey mapping an advantage.Good knowledge of automation and inbound marketing tools an advantage.Strategic thinking, and experience in developing a digital strategy.Team player and respectful towards othersExcellent communication and presentation skills
